The Union County Deputy Dash 5K Trail Run is returning on November 14, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at The Simpson Event Center, and we can’t wait to welcome runners back for this meaningful and exciting event.
This year’s race will proudly honor Sgt. Jeff Greene, who was killed in the line of duty on November 19, 2014. We invite the community to run in remembrance and help us continue his legacy of service.
Each participant will receive an event t-shirt, a finisher medal, and UCSO swag. Also, the oppoutunity to purchase an exclusive event challenge coin. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are also available for those interested in supporting this event.
For sponsorship or vendor information, please contact Tyler Funderburke at tyler.funderburke@unioncountync.gov.
Don’t miss this great event that brings our community together for fitness, remembrance, and a great cause.
Mark your calendars, Monroe. The Monroe Christmas Parade is rolling through downtown on Sunday, November 22 at 2 p.m. Rain or shine, because Santa doesn't cancel.
Floats, marching bands, classic cars, horses, princesses, and the whole of downtown Monroe lit up for the season. It's the parade you grew up with, and this year the City is proud to carry the tradition forward.
We meet every first Tuesday, participate in community events, and display our art downtown!
Start with our annual Christmas Parade at 4pm around Chestnut Square Park. Watch as festive floats, marching bands, and jolly performers fill the streets with holiday cheer. Then slide into the Holiday season with us at the park starting at 6pm. We will have free hot chocolate, snow sledding, photos with Santa, our tree lighting, and more holiday-themed activities!
Step back in time for an Old Waxhaw Christmas! 🎄 Join us on Saturday, December 12th, from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM at the Museum of the Waxhaws for a festive day of history, holiday traditions, and family fun—all with FREE admission!
